Interdisciplinary Studies in Musicology is a peer reviewed English-language journal published for 29 years by the Department of Musicology of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland and by the Poznan Society for the Advancement of the Arts and Sciences. The Editorial Board of ISM is represented by the eminent scholars: Karol Berger (Stanford), Helen Geyer (Weimar), Reinhard Strohm (Oxford) and Eero Tarasti (Helsinki) among others.

Our journal is concerning interdisciplinary studies on music, philosophy, sociology, semiotics, cognitive sciences, literature, theatre and many other disciplines. A modernly defined subject of musicological research must consist of a reflection of many areas, because only at the intersection of these trajectories of thinking about music, as a result of an interdisciplinary examination, a true and convincing image of the phenomenon of a musical work, or music in general, is created.

The journal is published both in digital and printed version.
